Can contractors legally be involved in hiring federal employees?

Yes — when the roles are clearly defined. Federal regulations (FAR 7.503, 5 CFR 300) prohibit contractors from making hiring decisions or exercising inherently governmental functions like selecting candidates, conducting merit-based evaluations for appointment, or approving offers. We do none of those things.

What we do — sourcing candidates, pre-screening for basic qualifications, and delivering scored shortlists — is recruitment support, a well-established category of contracted services across DoD, DHS, and civilian agencies. Every score includes written reasoning that your team can review. AI never decides who to advance, interview, or hire — those are human decisions made by your HR team.

How does this comply with merit system principles?

Merit system principles (5 U.S.C. 2301) require that hiring decisions be based on ability, knowledge, and skills — and that selection be made by government officials.
